8:00 – 8:15 a.m. – Introduction: overview of workshop, overview of SLCMAD; housekeeping.

8:15 – 8:30 a.m. – RaHP VEC: overview of RaHP VEC, survey results, current summer plans.

8:30 – 9:15 a.m. – Mosquito Biology: overview of mosquito biology, ecology, primary species of regional concern, mosquito taxonomy.

9:15 – 10:00 a.m. – Tick Biology: overview of tick biology, primary species of regional concern, tick taxonomy, Triatomes (time permitting).

10:15 – 10:50 a.m. – Arbovirology: overview of major regional diseases of concern, review of pathogen testing methods.

10:50 – 11:25 a.m. – Integrated Mosquito Management and Surveillance/Control: overview of IMM, larval/adult sampling and control methods, surveillance techniques/traps, GIS/VectorSurv.

11:25 a.m. – 12:10 p.m. – Insecticide Resistance: overview of IR; mechanisms, importance of IR monitoring, testing methods.

12:10 – 1:15 p.m. – Lunch

1:15 – 2:00 p.m. – Pathogen Thresholds: vector index, MFIR, MLE, when to intervene.

2:00 – 2:45 p.m. – VectorSurv: overview of VectorSurv, importance of GIS/databases.

2:45 – 3:15 p.m. – Mosquito Outreach/Education: importance of PR, topics of public concern,  new CDC outreach tools. 

3:15 – 3:30 p.m. – Group discussion: what does the community need? Logistic/funding/admin details.

3:30 p.m. – Optional tour of SLCMAD facilities

Day 2 will be organized into a variety of breakout sessions across two time slots (morning and afternoon). Further details and Exact scheduling/signups will be available on Day 1 of the workshop.
